About NocFree &
How does the NocFree tri-mode keyboard connect? Do I need cables between the parts?
NocFree & supports Bluetooth, 2.4G, and wired modes:
- Bluetooth: Switch all three parts (left keyboard, right keyboard, and numpad) to wireless mode. Then pair your computer with the “NocFree &” signal just once, and all three sections will connect wirelessly – no cables needed.
- 2.4G: Switch all parts to wireless mode, plug in the dongle, and everything connects automatically.
- Wired: Switch all parts to wired mode. Connect the left keyboard to your computer via USB-C. The right keyboard and numpad will connect wirelessly to the left side.
Can I use backlighting in wireless mode?
Yes, the white backlighting works in Bluetooth, 2.4G, and wired modes.
Does the NocFree & support connecting to multiple devices?
Yes, the keyboard supports connecting up to three devices in Bluetooth mode. You can easily switch between them using shortcut keys for a seamless experience.
How do I charge NocFree &? How long does a full charge last?
Simply connect NocFree & to your computer with a USB‑C cable to charge.
A full charge typically lasts 1 to 3 months. You can check the battery level anytime through our NocFree Link software, so there is no need to worry about running out unexpectedly.
Please note that the left and right halves, as well as the numpad, need to be connected separately for charging.
Is there software available for keyboard customization?
Yes, we provide dedicated software that allows users to customize macros, key mappings, and various advanced features.
Why did you choose a staggered layout instead of staggered column, ortholinear, or Alice?
We chose the standard layout to make the transition to split keyboards easier for most users. While alternative layouts have their advantages, they can also be harder to get used to. Our goal is to help more people enjoy the ergonomic benefits of a split keyboard without disrupting their everyday typing habits.
From an ergonomic perspective, staggered column layouts do reduce lateral finger movement. But most users’ discomfort comes from wrists, shoulders, and thumbs – all of which are already addressed by the standard split layout.
As for the Alice layout, after consulting kinesiotherapists and physiotherapists, we concluded that it doesn’t offer any clear ergonomic advantage.
We may offer other layouts in future models for those who prefer alternatives.
How do I switch from Mac layouts to Windows layouts?
You’ll get a second set of keycaps for the Windows system, so you can switch later if needed. Layout switching is handled through our NocFree Link software.
We’ve avoided using hotkey combinations to switch systems, as many users trigger them by accident. Most people rarely change layouts, so we’re keeping it simple.
Do you support ISO layouts?
Yes! We currently support UK-ISO, DE-ISO, Nordic-ISO, FR-ISO
Which switch option is best suited for my needs?
We offer two switch options: Linear and Silent Linear.
If you prioritize a quiet typing experience, the Silent Linear switch is the better choice, as it reduces noise and requires slightly less actuation force.
On the other hand, the Linear switch is more suitable if you don’t mind some sound during use.
Both options provide a seamless and responsive typing experience, so your choice depends on your sound preference.
Are the switches factory-lubed?
Yes! All switches come factory-lubed for a smooth typing experience.
Can I use low-profile switches from other brands?
Yes, our keyboard is compatible with TTC and Cherry low-profile switches. However, we still recommend using our own switches to ensure the best performance and overall experience.
Do you offer additional keycaps?
Yes, in addition to providing Mac/Win modifiers, number pad add-ons, and commonly used extras, we also include a set of specialty keycap add-ons for users who want to further customize their key mappings.
Are the accessories compatible with other products?
No, the accessories in this product series are designed to be compatible only with their respective products.
I don’t use a numpad much. Is it still useful for me?
Definitely! You can remap every key on the numpad using our NocFree Link software. Set up custom shortcuts, macros, or tools tailored to your workflow — for editing, design, or anything else.
Think of it as more than a numpad. It’s a flexible shortcut pad that boosts your productivity.
Can I purchase the numpad separately?
Not at the moment. The numpad must work together with the main keyboard (left and right) to connect to your computer.
How long will it take to get my orders?
NocFree & currently available for purchase are pre-orders. We estimate that the mass production and shipping of orders will be completed between December of this year and January of next year.
Additional Note: & series accessories will ship around the same time as the keyboards.
