Keeping your NocFree & firmware up to date helps improve wireless connectivity, connection stability, input reliability, and device communication.

If you're experiencing Bluetooth connection issues, unstable 2.4G wireless connectivity, or unexpected disconnects, updating to the latest firmware is one of the first troubleshooting steps we recommend.

Recent NocFree firmware updates include fixes and optimizations designed to improve Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless communication and connection stability.

If your NocFree & keeps disconnecting unexpectedly, has trouble maintaining a stable Bluetooth connection, experiences unstable 2.4G connectivity, or has other wireless connection issues, make sure you're running the latest firmware before trying additional troubleshooting.

Before You Start

What You'll Need

Have your NocFree & keyboard, 2.4G dongle, USB cable, Windows PC or Mac, and access to NocFree LINK ready before you begin.

Recommended update order: Dongle → Left Keyboard → Right Keyboard

Prepare Your Keyboard

Download the Latest Firmware

Switch the left keyboard to USB mode and connect it to your computer using a USB cable.

Open NocFree LINK and connect to your keyboard.

Click Firmware Update in the top-right corner to download the latest firmware files.

Check Your Dongle DFU Key

In NocFree LINK, open the FN layer and check the 6 key.

If it already shows Dongle DFU, you're ready to continue.

If the key still shows 6, click the key, open Functions, select Dongle DFU, and confirm the new assignment.

One more quick check: The positions of Fn and Left Ctrl may differ depending on whether you're using the Windows or Mac layout. If you're unsure, check the key positions shown in NocFree LINK instead of relying only on the printed keycap labels.

Update the Left Keyboard

Unplug the dongle from your computer.

Connect the left keyboard using the USB cable and switch it to USB mode.

Press and hold

Fn + 5

for 5 seconds

Wait for the NocFree & drive to appear on your computer.

Locate the left keyboard firmware file and drag it into the drive. Once the file transfer is complete, the left keyboard update is finished.

Update the Right Keyboard

Unplug all devices and connect the right keyboard directly to your computer using the USB cable.

Turn the right keyboard on using its power switch.

Press and hold

Fn + 0

for 5 seconds

Wait for the NocFree drive to appear.

Drag the right keyboard firmware file into the drive. Once the transfer is complete, restart the right keyboard using its power switch.

Troubleshooting

Installed the Wrong Firmware?

If you accidentally install the wrong firmware on one side of the keyboard, you can manually enter the firmware drive and install the correct file.

Right firmware installed on the left keyboard

Connect the left keyboard via USB, then press and hold Option + 3. Wait for the NocFree & drive to appear, then drag the correct left keyboard firmware file into the drive.

Left firmware installed on the right keyboard

Connect the right keyboard via USB, then press and hold the right Space key + + (plus key). Wait for the NocFree & drive to appear, drag the correct right keyboard firmware file into the drive, and restart the keyboard if needed.

Tip: Before installing any firmware file, double-check that it matches the device you're updating: Dongle, Left Keyboard, or Right Keyboard.
