Wireless & Key Input
Troubleshoot random inputs, weak signal, one-side response issues, and 2.4G connection problems.
Random or repeated inputs can be caused by low battery, wireless interference, receiver placement, or a keycap or switch that is not rebounding normally.
- Make sure the keyboard has sufficient battery.
- If you use 2.4G mode, place the receiver on top of the desk and as close to the keyboard as possible.
- Avoid placing the receiver behind a computer case or underneath the desk.
- Move the receiver away from nearby Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or other wireless devices.
- If one specific key feels stuck, remove the affected keycap and reinstall it to check whether it rebounds normally.
- Make sure the keyboard and dongle are running the latest firmware.
The black area at the top of each keyboard half houses the antenna and signal transmitter.
- Slightly angle the two halves outward into an Alice-style position.
- Avoid placing magnetic or metal objects between the left and right halves.
- When using 2.4G mode, keep the receiver close to the keyboard.
Re-pairing the left and right keyboard halves can restore communication between them.
- Set the left half to 2.4G mode and turn the right half ON.
- Long press FN + 4 on the left half.
- Long press FN + 9 on the right half.
- When both halves show a breathing light, press FN + Tab on the left half and check whether the lighting synchronizes.
- After synchronization, turn the right half OFF, then return the left half to 2.4G mode.
- Plug the receiver back in and test the keyboard.
- Insert the 2.4G receiver into your computer.
- Turn on the left keyboard and switch it to 2.4G mode.
- Keep the keyboard close to the receiver.
- Press and hold FN + 4 for 5 seconds, then release.
- Wait for the backlight to return to normal, then test several keys.
Firmware & Recovery
Fix incorrect firmware installations, failed updates, and dongle recovery issues.
Update all three components and make sure you use the correct firmware file for each device.
Mixing firmware files or interrupting the update may cause communication or DFU issues.
Watch complete firmware update guide →Right-side firmware installed on the left keyboard
- Connect the left keyboard via USB.
- Hold Option + 3 until the NocFree & drive appears.
- Drag the correct left-side firmware into the drive.
Left-side firmware installed on the right keyboard
- Connect the right keyboard via USB.
- Hold the right Space + + until the NocFree & drive appears.
- Drag the correct right-side firmware into the drive.
If the keyboard became unresponsive after an update, use the appropriate recovery guide for the affected side.
This can happen if the firmware update was interrupted or completed in the wrong order.
The correct update order is:
Numpad Troubleshooting
Bluetooth channel, connection, pairing, and DFU troubleshooting.
The numpad may currently be using a different Bluetooth channel.
- Short press a shortcut to switch to that Bluetooth channel.
- Long press the same shortcut to clear that channel's saved pairing information.
- Remove or forget the previously saved NocFree device in your computer's Bluetooth settings.
- Pair the numpad again.
- Hold NumLock while plugging in the USB cable.
- Alternatively, connect the USB cable first, then press and hold NumLock.
- If the issue continues, record a short video of the behavior and contact NocFree Support.
Try either of the following methods:
- Hold the top-left key, then connect the Type-C cable.
- Connect the Type-C cable first, then long press the top-left and top-right keys together.
Tenting & Stand Kit
Troubleshoot charging, contact, and silicone insert issues.
1. Turn off the backlight
If the backlight stays on while charging, its power consumption may make charging appear unusually slow.
Press FN + Tab to turn the backlight off, then test charging again.
2. Check the power source
Some computers stop supplying power through USB ports after shutdown.
- Try charging while the computer is turned on.
- Or connect the Stand Kit directly to a 5V / 2A power adapter.
3. Check the charging contacts
If charging still does not work, check whether the keyboard and stand contacts are aligned correctly.
You can temporarily remove the black silicone cover and check whether direct contact restores charging.
The black silicone insert protects the aluminum parts and helps prevent metal-to-metal contact or scratching when the keyboard is placed on the charging stand.
On this batch, the insert was not permanently glued so the stand can still be inspected or serviced if necessary.
If the insert stays in position and does not interfere with charging, it should not affect normal use.
If it repeatedly falls out or causes charging problems, please send us a photo or video so we can help.
