NocFree Lite V2: What’s New

DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

NocFree Lite V2 is our upcoming split keyboard, with five planned improvements shaped by Lite V1 feedback: upgraded connectivity, a revised key layout, a reinforced kickstand, NocFree Link support, and a new built-in trackball.

ESTIMATED SHIPPING START

December 2026–January 2027

Development and testing are still underway, and this timeline remains an estimate.

Here’s a closer look at what’s changing and why.

01. More Ways to Connect

Lite V2 will support USB wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth, giving you more flexibility to connect to your setup.

Alongside these connection options, we’re upgrading the wireless and control hardware to improve connection stability and reliability. This requires additional hardware testing and firmware development, with wireless performance remaining a key priority before release.

02. A More Intuitive Key Layout

We’ve adjusted the positions of the question mark key, left Shift, and bottom-row keys based on feedback from Lite V1 users.

The aim is to make frequently used keys easier to reach, reduce accidental presses, and help everyday typing feel more natural. These changes focus on the small movements you repeat throughout the day.

03. A Stronger Kickstand

Some Lite V1 users reported kickstand issues after extended use. We’ve redesigned and reinforced this structure for Lite V2, with better long-term durability as the goal.

We’re also refining the keyboard’s overall shape for a slimmer, lighter appearance.

04. Make It Yours with NocFree Link

Lite V2 will support NocFree Link, our in-house software for remapping keys and customizing shortcuts.

We’re working toward a simpler interface so you can more easily adjust the keyboard to your habits. Lite V2 will also receive ongoing firmware updates, allowing us to address issues and continue improving the experience after release.

05. A Built-In Trackball

One of the biggest additions to Lite V2 is a trackball near the spacebar on the right half of the keyboard.

The trackball is designed to let you move the cursor while keeping your hand close to the keys, reducing how often you need to reach for a separate mouse.

Our goal is to make the back-and-forth between typing and cursor movement feel smoother in everyday use.

When Will NocFree Lite V2 Ship?

NocFree Lite V2 is currently expected to begin shipping between December 2026 and January 2027.

This is later than we originally planned. As development progressed, several parts of the design evolved beyond the original scope, requiring more hardware testing and firmware work than we initially expected.

We’re sorry for the delay, and we know an updated estimate doesn’t take away the inconvenience of waiting.

Thank you for your patience, and for sharing your experiences with Lite V1. That feedback has helped us identify where Lite V2 needs to improve, and it continues to guide the work underway.
